Months of dedicated planning, budgeting and the associated stress has gone into the preparation of your special day. Believe it or not, it’s all over before you realize it.  The reality is that all that you will have left are the memories of your day captured by your photographer. These photos will be shared not only by you, but by your friends and loved ones for the rest of your and their lives. Hence, it goes without saying that one needs to take careful consideration when choosing a photographer. The next question is how does one go about doing this?

Firstly, it is common that all to-be-married couples are limited by budgets.  The first step would be to peruse photographers that fall within your budget. One of the most accessible avenues would be to visit these photographers’ web sites to obtain an idea of their style. Select a few photographers whose style falls within your forte and thereafter arrange a meeting with each of them. At this meeting you should insist on viewing their portfolio/s in print. It should always be kept in mind that photographers will only use their best, most recognised and loved photos in their portfolios to obtain the desired result. There are photographers who have been taking wedding photos for a number of years and hence their portfolios are fully endowed with their best photos. Keeping this in mind, it is imperative that you ask your photographer to have a look at a “sample wedding”. Perusing the sample wedding allows you the opportunity to have a look at all the photos of a specific wedding in its entirety. It goes without saying that this will not only allow you to get a feel of the photographer’s style but will also give you the opportunity to examine the quality and consistency of the photos.

Another important tip which needs to be kept in mind is that your photographer will spend majority of your special day with you, and hence you need to ensure that you and your partner not only feel comfortable around this person, but that you have the necessary faith and belief in that your photographer will not only keep you relaxed but you will also feel rest assured that the photographer will not add to the stress accompanied with a wedding. If this is neglected, unfortunately, it will show in your photos.
