About Isense Photography – Ilani de Villiers

Born in 1981, I grew up in Kwa-zulu Natal. From an early age, I was fascinated with art, photography and design and could be found drawing, sculpting and taking pictures of everything and everyone around me.

Upon finishing high school, I moved to Gauteng to pursue a qualification in Multimedia Graphic Design at Open Window Art Academy (an institution that is renowned for transforming creative minds into dynamic, competent designers, creative directors and animators).

During my early years as a graphic designers, I would regularly do wedding photography and baby photography for friends and relatives. Once the companies that I worked for as a graphic designer picked up on my knack for taking striking, quality pictures I was asked to divide my time between design and photography.

As my notoriety grew, so did the opportunities to photograph more weddings, people and events. Word-of-mouth is the quickest way to build (or break) anybody’s career as a photographer and, after only a few short years, I was booked up weeks in advance for pregnancy photography, wedding photography and portraits.

Throughout my career I has maintained a unique, vibrant style of my own. Flexibility, vision, understanding, spontaneity and dedication, coupled with great interpersonal skills that let all my clients feel relaxed and comfortable around me, have made me one of the best professional photographers in Gauteng. My client’s satisfaction is my greatest reward!
