Welcome to www.perfectpic.co.za. On this website you will get to know me and my work better. My name is Hanno Prinsloo and I live in Uitenhage , Eastern Cape near Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where I work as a professional wedding and event photographer. I love to take photographs of brides on their wedding day.

If you are looking for a friendly professional photographer to do your wedding or family photographs then look no further. I am an easy going person who will make you feel comfortable and relaxed in a very short time.

I also have my own Studio from where I Photograph people and products. I cater for both the professional market with product photos and for the person looking for some great studio photos of their children or families.

As a professional wedding photographer I travel through all of Uitenhage , Port Elizabeth and the Eastern Cape. I also do aerial photography of Uitenhage, Port Elizabeth and surroundings.

Coming from a family of artists and photographers it was only natural for me to follow this route. I studied photography in 1997 at Washington School of Photography in Washington DC, USA, I then came back to South Africa and continued studying at Bloemfontein Technikon. After this I decided to go work on a cruise ship in Los Angeles as a photographer, which of course was an amazing experience!

To me it’s about being passionate about people and capturing the moments of your life into art and painting the details that makes your day unique with light.

I always like to get to know my customers a little before the day of the shoot, since each bride has a unique personality, taste and style not one shoot is ever the same. I believe that you have to feel comfortable with me and also be comfortable with the pose you are in for it to look and reflect perfect on the photographs.

Knowing that the bride & groom spends a lot of time making choices that has to be perfect for your special day like your dress, jewellery, shoes, venue, flowers, etc., it is of utmost importance for me to capture all of this since it is the only visual memories you will have to show for years to come.

When working with kids I try to get on their level even if it means crawling on my stomach to get a great close up shot! Being a mother myself I received a big prescription of patience which is very important with kids, since they tend to feel tension very easily. Some of the best pictures I’ve taken of children are the ones where they aren’t aware of the camera and this is when I’m able to capture their true characteristics and expressions. I’d rather capture a ‘real’ frown than a ‘false’ smile…

From this page you will be able to view my portfolio, have a look at what packages I have to offer and also get some useful information about hiring a wedding photographer. I operate from Port Elizabeth in South Africa but am more than happy travel if you need me to.

One of the things I’ve noticed over the years, is that if you are not comfortable with your wedding photographer, your wedding photos are not going to look as good as that portfolio you’ve just been admiring. You have to, out of necessity, interact with your photographer throughout the big day and getting on well with the photographer helps to get those perfect photos you’re after.

My style of wedding photography is very casual, I prefer the photojournalist approach. That means that I photograph events as they happen and with little direction by me. For example, for the post ceremony photos, when we arrive at the location that we’ve chosen for the shoot, I turn you loose to enjoy each others company and photograph you from a distance (most of the time), these photos are, after all, about you as a couple and I would like to capture you as naturally as possible. Have a look at the articles section (link at the top of the page), I’ve spent some time collecting useful information (not written by me That section will expand as I work on it. Lastly, have a look at the packages I have to offer and download a copy of the photography contract if you wish. I offer DVD slideshow which has to be seen to be appreciated (I’ll bring a copy with me when we meet) Also, please remember that photos viewed on a computer screen are never as sharp as a printed photo, the images have to be compressed to minimize download times…

Profile of our Photography and Videography Business

Hello, and thank you for browsing through our website.

We, Karen and Deryck, operate as K & D Foster – Photographers. This is a formalising of our joint love for photography and the appreciation we have for each others unique photographic skills.

Karen studied photography in the mid 1980’s and I am currently studying towards a BMMA (Bachelors degree in Multi Media Art).

We have been involved in photography since 1979 and have had extensive experience with both medium and 35 mm format camera’s including Linhoff, Hasselblad and Mamiya. As we progressed we honed our skills in all areas of photography covering Weddings, Sport/Action, Nature, Still life, Studio Work as well as Commercial and Advertising.

We have our photographs regularly published in various magazines and newspapers throughout South Africa and internationally as well as having supplied many Companies and Private Individuals with large prints for display purposes.

We have an extensive library of wild life and other photographs on offer to clients.

In recent years we have incorporated digital technology into our photography and now offer a full digital service including repairing and retouching of old photographs.

With the advent of High Definition videography we were impressed with the quality (finally) of video output and have subsequently purchased HD equipment for our video work.
Photography Equipment:

The backbone of our photography system is a range of Nikon digital camera bodies, lenses and flashes. We now only using film if it is expressly requested by a by a client.

For Video we use the highly acclaimed (and cinematography quality) Canon XL H1 HD camera as the main camera. We also having an adapter which enables us to utilise all our professional Nikkor lenses on it.
